I was actually there for flag day in 1996 and saw the Shawinigan handshake firsthand. I tend to side with those who say that Clennett had it coming.

Oh Christ, stop being so mature. People who wave signs and yell are obnoxious as hell. Getting "throttled" by the Prime Minister on camera and having it replayed ad nauseum has to be the ultimate humiliation. Revel in the high comedy!
