Sausage Games

Late lunch at The Berghoff in the Loop area of Chicago yesterday. Lots of places already closed up for New Years, but lucky we stumbled upon it. A bit of a Chicago landmark, operating since 1898. Specializing in German style home cooking. A perfect find after a stressful travel morning fraught with irritation and glares and red tape.

Sheena had the Wild game sausage special: Venison, Duck and Boar sausages served with a roasted root vegetable side. Very delish. Made me want to visit a petting zoo next.

The dining companion had the blue cheese beef medallions. I snitched some of the dreamy mashed potato side. Berghoff's also does their own home brew. Had the pale ale and the dark.
